The engineering and technology group SENER has appointed Jorge Sendagorta Cudós to be head of the Engineering and Construction area. He was, until now, the Country Manager of SENER in Mexico.
SENER's Engineering and Construction area, which will be managed by Jorge Sendagorta Cudós, comprises three Business Units: Infrastructure and Transport; Renewables, Power, Oil & Gas; and Marine. It has branches in Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Chile, China, United Arab Emirates, Spain, USA, Morocco, Mexico, Portugal, UK, and South Africa.
Jorge Sendagorta Cudós joined SENER in October 2012 in the energy sector. He worked as Assistant Project Manager in the biomass plant for ENCE in Mérida (Spain). Later, he was the Project Manager for the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal in the Zeebrugge Port (Belgium). In 2015, he was appointed as SENER Country Manager in Mexico, one of SENER’s main offices in the area of Engineering and Construction, with nearly 500 employees. During its time in Mexico, SENER has undertaken several major projects, such as the Toluca – México City intercity train, Line 3 of the Guadalajara metro, the Empalme I and Agua Prieta I combined cycle plants, two cogeneration plants for CYDSA, the TG-8 Madero project at the Francisco I Madero refinery, and the Afranrent cogeneration plant for Cryoinfra, among others.
Before joining SENER, Jorge developed his professional career at Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) as Director of Purchasing and Subcontracts of the Guzmán and Villena solar thermal power plants, and as Project Manager of the latter. Previously, he worked for General Electric on the Lexan and Ultem projects in Cartagena (Spain) and Bergen Op Zoom (Holland).
Jorge Sendagorta Cudós holds a Degree in Industrial Engineering from ICAI School of Engineering (Madrid, Spain) with a major in Mechanical Engineering. He also has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California (Berkeley, California, USA). Finally, he has a Master Executive in Business Administration (EMBA) from the IESE Business School of Madrid (Spain).
Six SENER professionals—with an average of 25 years’ experience each in project management—will impart their knowledge to more than 100 students from the Industrial Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering and Biomedical Engineering master’s programs.... [+]
SENER is currently involved in railway lines and urban transport systems in the Middle East, where the company has local offices in the UAE, Oman and Qatar. Some of them will be shown at the Middle East Rail event, that will take place in Dubai on March 8 and 9.[+]
Sol suburban rail station is the largest cavern excavated in city soils in the entire world, being also the largest underground cavern in Europe. SENER’s design has allowed to construct in a very difficult urban environment as Madrid’s Puerta del Sol, especially if we consider the geotechnical conditions, the interference with existing buildings etc....
