SENER will be showcasing its cutting-edge technology in rail and mass transit systems at Rail Live 201928/02/2019 (Spain)
SENER will be present at the International Rail Live Exhibition and Conference to be held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Bilbao on 6 and 7 March. SENER will be showcasing its rail and mass transit expertise at its own stand, placing the accent on its technological contributions to three areas: civil works (roads, tunnels and viaducts); transport system design, supply and integration (electrification, power supply, signaling and communications); and station architecture and design, where it provides top added-value services.
Concerning this matter, SENER's architect Juan Francisco Paz will consequently be giving a talk on the 6th at 15:45 h entitled 'High Speed integration into Historic Station Buildings, Union Station (LA, USA)', where he will outline the integration work carried out by SENER at Union Station in Los Angeles, California.
Among the rail and mass transit projects that SENER will be showcasing at its stand, the following stand out: several sections of the California (USA) high-speed line, the Angels Flight funicular in Los Angeles (California, USA) and the Toluca - Mexico City (Mexico) line, using conventional technology but implementing an innovative design for complex structures; metros in Latin America, such as Guadalajara's line 3, Panama, Bogotá, Lima, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Santiago de Chile; projects in Europe, such as the new high-speed network in the United Kingdom (where SENER belongs to the EDP (Engineering Delivery Partner) Consortium for High Speed Two (HS2) Limited), as well as the Dublin, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Porto and Warsaw metros, and the Norwegian Follo Railway Line; in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region: the Oran metro and light rail or tram (LRT), the Algerian metro and the Saida-Moulay Algerian railway, the Abu Dhabi and Lusail LRT, the Doha and Riyadh metros, and the Oman and Etihad railway lines. SENER will also showcase the projects carried out in Asia and Oceania, such as those in Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan and Australia.
Regarding SENER's projects in Spain, information will be provided on the Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville and Valencia metro systems, as well as SENER's participation in most of the national high-speed lines and the Figueras-Perpignan cross-border high-speed line.
SENER offers the full range of services needed to develop complex integral projects - from initial planning to operation stages- and offers different financing, construction and operational formulas. In total, the company has worked on more than 15,000 km of rail studies and projects, 1,200 km of metro and light rail transit (LRT) systems and more than 70 urban transport systems, making it one of the main transport infrastructure companies in the world.
Thanks to its experience, SENER has a complete, integrated approach to the development of transport systems, which enables it to participate in all stages of the project, from planning to the design, construction and operation of the line, and to cover all the technical disciplines involved with its own professionals, as its staff includes experts in each of them.
The President of SENER, Jorge Sendagorta, has been awarded the Honorary Member's medal, which is granted by the Spanish Institute of Engineering (Instituto de Ingeniería de España, IIE). This institution decided to give the distinction to Jorge Sendagorta after he was nominated by the Spanish Association of Naval and Ocean Engineers, in recognition of his professional career. According to the institution: “It's a prize to the engineer, but undoubtedly also to the engineering carried out at SENER, which is spearheading Spanish engineering around the world and in the most innovative sectors."[+]
