SENER wins a contract for the integration of the high-speed line in urban areas in Almería

Adif Alta Velocidad has awarded SENER the contract for consultancy and technical assistance services to draw up the draft and basic construction projects corresponding to the second stage in the integration of the Murcia-Almería high-speed line in Almería (Spain).

SENER's contract, worth just over 1.6 million euros, covers drafting the projects for the underground section, the above surface sidings, the redesign or new construction of the inter-modal station in Almería and the design of the workshop area in the El Puche district of Almería. Once the technical and economic content of the draft project has been defined, a business plan will be drawn up for the coordination of action and resources in order to achieve more efficient integration and to determine the scope of the basic and construction projects that will be drafted subsequently.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology will be used to carry out this project, which will transform the city of Almería, adding a new contract to those in which SENER uses this methodology.

In total, SENER has developed studies and railway projects that total more than 15,000 km, as well as important passenger stations and railway terminals, which makes the company one of the world's leading engineering companies in this sector. SENER has also earned a strong international reputation for designing and supplying intelligent transport systems that incorporate high-tech solutions.
