SENER has been awarded the contracts to perform detailed design and construction supervision services for the Architectural fi nishes of Doha Metro Red Line South Elevated (RLS), Red Line North Elevated (RLN) and Green Line South Elevated (GL).

The scope of services covers the following activities:

  • • Design and supervision of the architectural fi nishes
  • • Specifi cations

 

  • Red Line South technical description:
  • 3 elevated stations
  • Access
  • Coating of slopes and viaducts
  • Landscaping and urbanization of surrounding areas
  • Roofs and facades of the stations
  • Elevated access
  • 3 emergency exits within the viaduct.
  • Red Line North technical description:
  • 1 elevated station & 1 at grade station
  • Access
  • Coating of slopes and viaducts
  • Landscaping and urbanization of surrounding areas
  • Roofs and facades of the stations
  • Pedestrian bridge
  • Green Line South technical description:
  • 1 elevated station
  • Access
  • Coating of slopes and viaducts
  • Landscaping and urbanization of surrounding areas
  • Roofs and facades of the stations

Importance of BIM-REVIT within the services delivered:

SENER has developed the project in a fully integrated BIM environment. Qatar Rail´s BIM requirements were very demanding in terms of the BIM Uses to be implemented, the information to be included, the processes to follow and the quality of models.

Requested BIM Uses:

  • Design Authoring
  • Drawing Production
  • 3D Coordination (Clash detection)
  • Quantity Take-Off
  • 4D sequencing
  • Visualizations production

The project was developed in accordance to BS-1192 standards for Information exchange. Common Data Environment (CDE) for collaboration with other stakeholders was mandatory.

For interfaces with other contractors other cloud based platforms like Glue 360 were used.

  • The main software used within this project is:
  • Autodesk Revit for modelling, drawing production and QTO
  • Autodesk Navisworks for 3D Coordination and 4D sequencing
  • Dynamo for the generation of complex geometry
  • Rhino/Grasshopper for the generation of complex geometry
  • ProjectWise as CDE
