The project of the Dubai Metro Red Line Extension consists in the complete development of the Concept & Feasibility Design, Preliminary Design, Tender Documentation, Prequalification of Contractors, Tender Assistance, Tender Evaluation and Recommendation of Award of the Design & Build Contract to the selected contractor.
The project includes the extension of the Red Line at Sheikh Zayed road to serve the Expo 2020 Site. It will have a length of approximately 14.5 km and 7 stations. SENER is currently working in this project providing all pre-contract stages services for stations’ MEP and RAMS.
- Stations’ MEP: services provided: mechanical systems, electrical systems, fi re protection systems, plumbing systems and horizontal and vertical transportation systems for all the stations, including the Iconic Station at the Expo Site.
- RAM & Safety: development of RAM & Safety engineering activities. The aim is to integrate overall RAMS targets, requirements, standards, guidance and strategy into the Preliminary Design life cycle phases, to be followed in subsequent stages of the project.
Regarding the post-contract stages, SENER will perform the Detailed Design Review and Approval of the contractor’s submissions plus the contractor’s Contract Administration, in the technical domains it is assigned to, in order to ensure the achievement of successful completion of the program, within the budget allocated and complying with the high quality parameters required. Amongst its duties SENER will be responsible for reviewing and accepting contractor’s method statements and for site supervision during the execution of the works.
